Private Pay
We work with most major insurance plans, and that's intentional — we want cost to be one less barrier to getting help.
But insurance isn't always the right fit, or the only option. Private pay is a full, deliberate path to care at Collaborative Counseling, not a fallback.
Why a Self Pay Option?
Privacy
No diagnosis or treatment record is submitted to an insurance company. What happens in session stays between you and your therapist.
Covers What Insurance Won't
Couples and premarital counseling generally require a diagnosable condition to be covered — and a relationship isn’t one. Private pay is often the only way to access this care at all.
Skip the Deductible
If you have a high-deductible plan you rarely meet, you’re often paying full price per session anyway before insurance ever kicks in. Private pay can cost the same or less, with no surprise bill later.
Choose Your Therapist
Work with the clinician who’s the best fit — regardless of which insurance panels they’re on.
Private Pay Sliding Scale
Fees are based on total household income and household size, so cost reflects what a family can actually manage. If you're paying out of pocket, you may qualify for a reduced rate below our standard fee.

Sliding Scale — Client Sessions with a Graduate Intern
Sessions with a graduate-level intern, working under Heather's direct clinical supervision, are offered at a significantly reduced rate.
